The scarcity of reliable experimental data on the flow pattern in bends in responsible for the lack of insight into the physical mechanism of open channel hydraulics . the measurement and isovels obtained. The measurement analysis of three sets of open – channel velocity distributions are presents here. Results indicate that the poer law fit the measured data well, but the logarithmic distribution dosen’t fit well. This leads to the conclusion that the logarithmic distribution dosen’t fit well. This leads to the conclusion that the estimation of the bed shear within the bend, by assuming log-profile, may be in error.
