The donor properties of nitroso compounds with metal ions (copper, nickel, tin and iron salts) and complexes of metal ions with the ligand ρ-Nitroso-N,N-dimethylaniline (NODMA) have been prepared and studied. The basicity of nitrosobenzene is sufficiently increased by substitution of the dimethylamino group in the para position to allow the isolation of stable complex [1]. Ion exchanged Zeolites with mentioned metal cations accelerated adsorption of NODMA and can adsorb NODMA without interference of organic solvent, which will be helpful for removal of the N-nitrosamines pollution in environmental protection. Adsorption capacity of zeolites mainly depended on their pore size, surface area and acid-basic properties. In this study clinoptilolite and NaY zeolites were employed to adsorb ρ-Nitroso-N,N-dimethylaniline (NODMA) from benzen or aqueous solution. In the present paper, the adsorption-interactions of typical probe molecule with the active metal species on the ion-exchanged zeolite along with competition of solvent molecules influence on the adsorptive properties, as well as whether this could be determined from the adsorption isotherms were studied.
