Determining Organizational Information Requirements: A Generic Process-oriented Integrated Framework

Today, organizations as complex social systems operate in a complex, interactive, rapidly changing, and competitive but learning environment. In this environment, organizations have to link and match their IT planning to their business processes and strategy. To achieve this objective, several models, techniques and methodologies have been developed in literature. These models, techniques and methodologies mostly suffer of inadequacy of tools to record the association between information and business tasks. Today, lack of an integrated structure regards one of the main reasons for growing inability to cope with information. This paper aims to remove this inability by providing a new generic process-oriented integrated framework for the determination of organizational information requirements and needs. The proposed framework provides a general integrated concept for better analyzing organizational information needs at the Meta level.
