The relationship between husbands social support depression anxiety among women with breast cancer

The purpose of this study was to investigate relationship between husbands social support, anxiety and depression among women with breast cancer The research method of solidarity and statistical society consisted of all Married women with breast cancer referred to the Oncology Centers in the first six months of 1394, including of 100 patients as sample. Mohebi’s social support (1393), Beck Depression Inventory (1988) and anxiety questionnaire (1988) was used. The method of Pearson correlation coefficient and simultaneous regression was used for statistical hypothesis testing. The results show that there is an inverse significant relationship between partner’s Social support and anxiety (P<0.01). In other words, for more partner’s support, it will be less anxiety. Furthermore, there is an inversesignificant relationship between social support and depression (P<0.01. In addition, the results show that the partner social support has the highest ability to predict later depression and anxiety in women with breast cancer. Therefore it can be said that according to the pattern of social support, this pattern emphasis on the quality of relationships, rather than its quantity. Because of intimate relationship andclose links between patients and their partners, the partner patients can have the greatest impact on depression
