Abstract:
Diet is involved in 35% of cancers, which is 50% in women. Obesity and alcohol use have been proven to be key risk factors for cancer. Some studies have shown that eating selenium-containing foods hasled to a reduction in the risk of developing prostate, lung and colon cancers. Receiving red meat, processed meat, confectionery and desserts, fried potatoes is associated with a 46% increase in the riskof colon cancer. Fats, alcohol, smoked meat and bacon, nitrate-rich foods and high-calorie diets are among the factors associated with the risk of cancer. This research is a review study in which effectiveherbs for the treatment of cancer were searched in four reference books of Iranian medicine including Al-Qanoon fi Talab ibn Sina, Tazkera Dawood Antoqi, Al-Hawi Razi and Tango-Nasseri. In the sources of Iranian medicine, there were 46 effective medicines for cancer treatment, 6 of them could be used as diet foods which include: Ginger, Chickpea and Thyme, Pineapple and Blackberry. Considering the significant role of nutrition in preventing cancers, foods that can be effective in preventing and treating cancer in the diet of patients can be used. This will require more clinical and laboratory research in this field.
