Mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles for drug delivery applications abstract

Drug delivery systems are nowadays one of the most promising fields in biotechnology. The traditional form of drug delivery (oral administration or injection) frequently causes fluctuation of drug concentration in the blood, which is timely more than effective therapeutic index. Currently, the goal of the drug release control system is to control the release rate of drug in the body and achieve effective treatment, which has been attracting more and more attention. In addition the impact of bone diseases and trauma in the whole world has increased significantly in the past decades. The use of mesoporous bioactive glasses (MBG) for drug delivery and bone tissue regeneration has grown significantly over the past years. In this article we utilized the sol gel method to synthesis mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles. Characterization of nanoparticles were done by EDS and TEM which showed the composition, spherical structure and mesoporousity of nanoparticles
