Abstract:

Qigong is a mind-body integrative exercise from traditional Chinese medicine which has been used to prevent and cure ailments in order to improve the overall health and boost energy levels of body through regular practice. It has also been used as a complementary medicine in cancer care. i-HEALTH Itronic methodology is based on known neurophysiologic principles and research into the reflexological pathways between the body’s internal organs and the skin used for assessment of electrical energy and autonomic self-regulation (Homeostatsis) of different body organs. Methods In this study determination of the effects of qigong on cancer’s progress and immune function in one patient was evaluated. The effect of qigong practices on a woman diagnosed with breast cancer by Itronic EDA-module of the European i-health system was assessed. Her internal organs’ reaction and the corresponding reflexes of the nervous system were tested by this apparatus before and after qigong practice. Results Many papers based on qigong therapy for different types of cancer have been published. Alongside clinical studies on patients suffering from cancer was the most recent topics of those articles. A significant successful effect of qigong meditation on the woman who participated in this study ,was observed by i-health device. Our study suggests that qigong exercise and meditation during chemotherapy may improve the overall body health and benefit organs such as lungs, pericardium, gallbladder and heart and so on approved by i-Health system for evaluation of homeostasis. Conclusions i-health confirm findings support the utilization of qigong for breast cancer care. Until the present study , the effectiveness of qigong in cancer care is not supported by the evidence from rigorous clinical trials. However, we hope that it will be possible in future.
