Effect of Regression Parameters on Selecting the Optimum Adsorption Mechanism of Disperse Dyes on Nylon 6 Fiber abstract
Dyeing of polyamide fiber (nylon 6) with 3 disperse dyes Yellow 3, Blue 3 and Red 1is studied at two temperature 900c and 980c . The validity of different adsorption models consisting of Freundlich, Langmuir, Dual-Mode and Nernst are studied and are evaluated by employing the different statistical metrics i.e. R2,CV%, +2 ,RMS. The parameters of models are determined by using linear and non-linear least square techniques. The results confirm that the non-linear method is more appropriate method to determine the isotherm parameters. Besides, the Dual-Mode equation shows the best fit to the experimental data. The results of error analysis of fitting by applying the different statistical functions were accompanied by a specific inconsistency. Therefore, certain analysis and suitable selection of an adsorption equation require a set of statistical criteria.
