INVESTIGATING THE PERFORMANCE OF SEMI-BURIED STEEL BUILDING IN SOIL UNDER EXPLOSIVE LOADING abstract

In the defensive industry and passive defense, due to increased terrorist attacks and the increasing likelihood of nuclear attacks, research on the effects of explosions on structures, especially in the underground, is of particular importance. Due to the lack of access to precise laboratory and practical information in these particular cases, as well as the complex nature of explosive and soil loading, numerical modeling can to some extent be a substitute for the above methods. Given that most of these methods have been proposed for explosions on the ground or the air, their results will not be accurate for explosion in the soil and water. Therefore, in this paper, in order to investigate the behavior of the semi-buried structure under the influence of the explosion load, the explosion with a specific destructive power and a specific position in the underground, as well as the earth s surface, is considered to be analyzed and its effect with use of dynamic analysis have been applied on a five-story building with one basement and then again on a ten-story building with two basements and the results is investigated.
