Simulation of dehydration unit in gas refinery with HYSYS when propane isn’t available in refrigeration cycle abstract

Dehydration unit is one of the most important units in gas refining process. It uses dryers with molecular sieves to dry wet gas. Before drying the temperature of the gas should decrease in order to condensate some amount of water in it. Propane refrigeration cycle is used for this purpose normally, but when propane is not available in cycle the temperature of gas should be reduced via other sources. By locating a Joule- Thomson valve in recycling 7% of gas stream, the temperature of this stream could diminish to 19.40 oC which it can be used as coolant in 104-E-101 heat exchanger in order to decrease the entrance gas’s temperature and water amount.
