Application of Iranian natural clinoptilolite in the removing nitrate, lead, cobalt, zinc, nickel and strontium (A review study) abstract

Groundwater pollution on one hand, and the existence of heavy metal ions in the industrial and the nuclear waste, on the other hand, have led to numerous studies for removing nitrates, lead, cobalt, zinc, nickel and strontium. The use of natural clinoptilolites due to their effective efficacy and low cost and their rich resources in our country is one of the reasons for this review study to evaluate the effectiveness and effective factors such as pH, the initial concentration, the absorbent dose and contact time. In the studies, pH, the initial concentration, the absorbent dose and the contact time on the adsorption were effective by the clinoptilolite of Semnan and Sabzevar regions, and the absorption rate was the highest in optimal amounts. Due to the rich sources of Clinoptilolite in the different regions of Iran and the differences in their structure, their use is recommended in order to determine its effect on the amount of absorption.
