Abstract:
In this study, electrolyte and temperature effects on the critical micelle concentration (CMC) ofhexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (HTAB) were studied by using the conductometric technique. The CMC ofHTAB was determined in pure water at T= (298 and 308) K.The obtained results shown that the CMC also increaseswith increasing temperature. Moreover, CMCof HTAB wasmeasuredthe presence of NaCl and KClelectrolyteswith0.003, 0.005 and 0.008 mol. kg-1at T= (298 and 308) K. The obtained results shown that the CMC decrease withincreasing electrolyte concentration. The Gibbs free energy of micelzilationwere also determined byconductometricmeasurements.
