Analyzing English Translations of Polysemous Words of the Holy Quran in the Works of Arab Translators v.s Non-Arabs; a Case Study of Sura Yusuf

This study was mainly concerned with different Quran translators in choosing the true sense of polysemous words in the Quran. First, based on three valid interpretations and one Persian translation of Quran the polysemous words were founded by analyzing word by word through the Sura Yusuf . Then, the work of Arab translators versus non-Arabs in rendering those words is studied. Finally, by comparing and analyzing it was concluded that the Arabs were more successful in identifying and translating the true sense of the polysemous words found in the Sura Yusuf .
