Abstract:
Based on the transfer-matrix method, this paperhas investigated the electrical transport properties inmonolayer and bilayer graphene superlattices modulatedby a homogeneous electric field. It is found that the angularrange of the transmission probability can be efficientlycontrolled by the number of barriers. In addition, currentdensity has an oscillatory behavior with respect to externalfield and Fermi energy. In other words, the current densityin monolayer and bilayer graphene superlattices can becontrolled by changing either the external field or the Fermienergy. Meanwhile, in the bilayer system unlike monolayerstructure the value of current density can be zero. So, fordesigning electronic devices, bilayer graphene is moreefficient.
