Abstract:

With an increase in the oil price, the most efficient strategy would be avoiding extra costs including implementing recompleting or sidetracking existing wells, converting wells, drilling infill wells, and initiating/improving an enhanced-recovery operation. In this respect, pattern flood management and surveillance are of the most importance in miscible gasflood process. In this study, a synthetic and a real reservoir under miscible gasflood initially monitored via modern streamline-based surveillance techniques including pattern monitoring, well pairs connectivitycontrolling, and injector evaluations. Afterwards, pattern flood management has been implemented on both reservoirs. At synthetic reservoir, it was observed that cumulative oil production increased about 2.5 times while total reservoir efficiency (TRE) was enhanced. At realreservoir case, Simplex Optimization increased cumulative oil production nevertheless, increased cumulative gas injected which is unfavorable from reservoir management point of view. Finally, Hybrid case implemented on real reservoir increased oil production and ameliorate TRE.
