Kinetic Study of CO Hydrogenation Reaction over Cobalt Catalyst without inhibitor and Support abstract

CO hydrogenation on a cobalt catalyst without inhibitor and support in a fixed bed cylindrical down flow reactor was studied kinetically. Length of reactor is approximately 10 mm. Tests were performed over the catalyst which contains Rhenium with the proportion of (Re/Co=0.03). the pressure of reaction set to 23 Bar and temperature range 473.15 - 501.15. catalyst charge with 180 to 250 micrometer particles and 0.3 gr within 0.23 gr of SiC diluent and the size of 150 micrometer in the reactor in order to obtain the best kinetic model. The best one was selected from the offered models and activation energy was calculated to be Ea=33/94 kj/mol which had appropriate correlation with the values mentioned in previous papers.
