Preparation and characterization of BF3 supported on coconut shell as a green and efficient nanocatalyst for synthesis of 2-amino-4H-chromene-3-carbonitrile derivatives abstract

BF3 supported on coconut shell nanoparticles were simply prepared in high yields and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Nano-coconut shell-BF3 has been applied as a new catalyst for synthesis of 2-amino-4-aryl-5-oxo-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4H-chromene-3-carbonitrile derivatives from the simple one-pot reaction between aryl aldehydes, cyclic 1,3-diketone and malononitrile. Cleanliness, simple methodology, short time, and excellent yields of products are some advantages of this method.
