Abstract:
The intensity of ground motion can be measured using a number of parameters, some of which have a very high correlation with the level of failure of the building due to these movements. Based on vulnerability methods that exploit story drift as criteria for damage, the relations between drift and the criterion of the ground motion intensity were formed using the spearman method. The potential destruction of the near-fault earthquakes has been analyzed and assessed by nonlinear dynamic analysis on steel frames with infilled-masonry. Different heights of the building with infilled-masonry could change the structures response. Also, story drift can be calculated precisely by using combination of intensity criteria and collapse prediction equation. Hence, determinations of the available seismic parameters, which have the highest correlation with the demolition of the structure, were measured using the failure index and the maximum inter-story drift. Subsequently, the most efficient seismic parameters with satisfactory correlation were proposed.
