A Review of Current Trends and Advance and applications of CdSe/ZnS Core/Shell Quantum-Dot abstract

Colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals (NCs) are of great interest for both fundamental studies which is used in quantum dot [1, 2].Nanocrystals of one material can be embedded in a shell of another material, and in some cases epitaxial growth is even possible [3, 4].In particular, for CdSe NCs the particles were covered with ZnS [5, 6] to establish a core/shell system, where the band gap of the core lies energetically within theband gap of the shell material and the photogenerated electrons and holes are mainly confined inside the CdSe.This paper describes application and properties and synthesis methods of cadmium selenide–zinc sulfide (CdSe–ZnS) quantum dots reporting an in the period 1980 till 2017 years.
