Detection of aph (3 )-IIb and aadA1 in amino glycoside resistant Enteroabacter Spp. isolated from clinical samples, Mofid children hospital abstract

Background: Enterobacter Spp. is one of the important gram- negative bacteria in nosocomial infections. This pathogen can cause different infectious diseases like; urinary tract infections, septicemia, wound infection and etc. Amino glycoside is one of the antibiotic choices for Enterobacter infections treatment. Hence, resistance to this antibiotic family can cause therapeutic problems. The aim of this study was, detection of aph (3 )-IIb and aadA1 genes as an amino glycosidase in amino glycoside resistant Enteroabacter Spp. Methods: In this cross sectional study, 66 amino glycoside resistant Enterobacter SPP. were collected. Amino glycoside resistant was confirmed by antibiogram according to CLSI. DNA extraction was done by Thermo extraction kit and conserved in -80 oC up to PCR assay. Aph (3 )-IIb and aadA1 genes were identified by specific primers and PCR. Results: The results of PCR and electrophoresis was indicated that 6, 13 strains carried aph (3 )-IIb and aadA1, respectively. Conclusion: Resistance to amino glycoside can be considerable for healthcare centers especially the strains that include aadA1gene. Because of aadA1 is located on class I integrin and can transfer to other bacteria and spread in hospital.
