Abstract:
The most productive procedure for production of graphene oxide (GO) is Hummer’s method. However, the main problem is that prepared GO needs to reduce for practical applications. Conventional methods for reduction of GO have drawbacks such as toxic nature, non-economic, harmful to both environment and human. Here we proposed and tested a green approach including plant extracts for a satisfying reduction of GO to reduced graphene oxide (r-GO). The extract of Mentha (or Mint) indicated the moderate antioxidant activities in DPPH test. After reduction GO by mentioned extract, the products was characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM and TGA analysis. Results indicated that interaction between GO and Mint extract leads to efficient reduction of GO. So this plant extract can be introduce as a green and accssaible material for efficient redction of GO to r-GO.
