Abstract:

Although the tetrazole system rarely occurs in nature, it has been an increasingly important pharmacopoeia in medical chemistry because of its metabolic stability and unique structural and electronic features [1]. In this research work, we synthesized some new compounds of alkyl tetrazoles. Therefore, isonicotinaldehde (1) in reaction with NH2OH was converted to isonicotinaldehyde oxime (2). The obtained compound was dehydrated by acetic anhydride to give isonicotinonitrile (3). Then, 4-(2H-tetrazol-5-yl)pyridine (4) was prepared by [2+3] cycloaddition reaction between (3) and NaN3. The structure of all the synthesized compounds were characterized and confirmed by FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy techniques.
