Abstract:
Conducting polymers are the important class ofmaterials for the semiconducting and optoelectronic properties [1]. Among the Conducting polymers, polyaniline (PANI) is an interesting member since it possesses high environmental stability, ease of preparation, tunable electrical properties and relatively low cost. PANI finds great application in many areas, such as organic conductors, actuators, electromagnetic shielding, unique doping/dedoping chemistry, conductive paint, light-emitting diodes, coatings, gas-separation membranes [2,3] and removal of heavy metals [4–6]. In addition, its electric conductivity can be reversibly controlled by changing the oxidation state of the main chain or by protonating the imine nitrogen atoms [7]. Polyaniline/TiO2 (PANI/TiO2) nanocomposites has been prepared successfully in aqueous/nonaqueous media by the chemical polymerization of aniline with ammonium peroxydisulphate as an initiator in the presence hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC) as a steric stabilizer. The changes of structure, morphology, thermal stability and thermal degradation were studied by Fourier transformed in frared (FTIR), Scanning electron microscope (SEM).
