Abstract:
Partial dischargh (PD) can defects in power system cables accessories . in this paper we try to design and usekind of VHF sensors (Rogowski coil) combined AE (acoustic emission) sensors to find PD defects and location inpower system XLPE cables . this way can be easy installed onsite and used safely a model of cables when PDhappening simulated with MATLAB simulation system . most frequency components of a PD pulse are below of100MHz . therefore onsite cables VHF (very high frequency) PD technique has good immunity to electromagnetic anda high signal to Noise Ratio. The results of this research had proved that the reliability of the PD detection is improvedusing the combined method.
