Abstract:

Steel Plate Shear Walls Without holes (SPSWW) have been shown well beahviour in comparison to Perforated Steel Plate Shear Walls(PSPSW). According to recently studies, the holes reduces initial stiffness and restrain force of steel plate shear walls. Therefore, the regualar Layout of Circular Perforations has been suggestion in american natinoal standard AISC (2016). The novel pattern of systems consist of circule holes, where the holes were around of steel plate. In this work, aiming at showing the advantage of such devices, a FEM model of SPSWW and PSPSW has been calibrated on the basis of literature experimental tests, where all tested specimens were subjected to hysteris increasing horizontal loading. Subsequently, a parametric FEM analysis on different series of perforated panels with around holes, by changing the diameter of holes in same perforation percentage, has been carried out. Finally, the achieved FEM analysis results of PSPSW have been compared SPSWW systems in order to prove the effectiveness of diameter holes, whiche has been improved behaviour and out of plane displacement of steel plate.
