It is reported most in liver and lung but Here we presented person with posterior triangle mass.IntroductionHydatidosis is an infectious disease caused by the tapeworm Echinococcus, that lives in the intestines of the carnivores such as dogs, and its egg can incidentally inters the human intestines and emerges to the larvae. After invasion to the blood vessels in the intestines, it can migrate to the almost every part of the body such as neck in an absolutely rare cases.Case reporta 23-year-old female presented to the hospital with complaint of slowly growing painless mass in the posterior cervical triangle. Clinical examination revealed well-defined mass causes no fever or other complaints.As the patient did not response to antibiotic therapy excisional biopsy was considered.We received an already opened round shape creamy color cystic tissue measuring cm in diameter with piece of gray sheet like tissue measuring 4×3 cm and 0.3 cm in thickness.Microscopic assessment showed cystic lesion with an outer lamellated chitinous layer and an inner germinative layer without any scolices that was diagnosed as cervical hydatid cyst.DiscussionHydatid cyst is reported in almost every sites of the body with the most prevalence in liver and lung respectively. Posterior cervical triangle is rare site even in the endemic regions,. So it is not in the differential diagnosis of this site routinely.Endemic area for hydatidosis is where dog, sheep and human live in close contact, and clean potable water is unavailable; such as Middle East, South America, New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia and Mediterranean countries.Surgical removal is the best management, but any damages to the cyst wall can cause anaphylaxis and recurrence.
