E-learning applications in medical universities

Significant improvements in medical education and the development of IT and computer assisted instruction can be expected from technological achievements both in hardware and soft ware tools . In this special issue on virtual medical universities and e-learning we will make a survey on the principal existing teaching applications of ICT used in medical schools around the world. The topics of this special issue goes from educational computer program to create and simulate virtual patients with a wide variety of medical conditions in different clinical settings to using electronically learning in progran training medical informatics of clinicians.
