Abstract:
In sturgeon breeding complexes, daphnia is used to larvae feeding. Daphnia enrichment is very important to increase of food quality and reduce the losses during this period. The present study aims improved daphnia unsaturated fatty acids composition. The present study was done to improve unsaturated fatty acids composition of daphnia. For this purpose, harvesting of daphnia from ponds was done. After culturing, they enriched with Scenedesmus dimorphus and Chlorella vulgaris. Two treatments with three replicates and a control group were considered to conduct this study. The microalgae density to enrich daphnia was 1000 cells/ml. Extraction of fatty acids was done using direct methyl starchification method and Gas chromatography (Unicom 4600) was used to determine the fatty acid profile. Statistical analysis of data was done using SPSS software and Excel software (version 2010) was used to draw charts. On the basis of results obtained from fatty acids analysis, the amounts of PUFA in S. dimorphus and C. vulgaris were determined as %16 and %26.3 respectively. The amounts of unsaturated fatty acids of Eicosapentaenoic acid (C20:5) and Docosahexaenoic acid (C22:6) in S. dimorphus were %0.8 and %1.1 respectively. The amount of linoleic fatty acids (C18:2) and linolenic (C18:3) in C. vulgaris were %8.6 and 16.9%respectively. The PUFA concentrations were %15.1, %17.6 and %19.8 in control group, daphnia enriched with C. vulgaris and daphnia enriched with S. dimorphus respectively.
