Determination of speed of sound in saturated liquid phase abstract

In this paper an improvement for calculation of speed of sound in saturated liquids has been introduced. It can be used to evaluate other properties such as thermal conductivity. Various liquid properties including heat capacity, density and speed of sound, can be determined using a precise equation of state (EOS). In this work Peng and Robinson equation of state (PR EOS) is used for calculation of gas phase properties. The previous estimating relation for speed of sound in liquid uses van der Waals equation of state (vdW EOS) parameter (b). The proposed method is suitable for calculation of speed of sound for many substances except hydrogen bonded ones and helium.
