Liquid - liquid equilibria for ternary mixtures of (grape seed oil+ oleic acid+ methanol or ethanol) at 25, 35 and 45°C abstract

under atmospheric pressure, Liquid - liquid equilibria for the ternary mixtures of (grape seed oil+ oleic acid+ methanol) and (grape seed oil+ oleic acid+ ethanol) were determined at 298.15, 308.15 and318.15 k. The experimental results were correlated with the NRTL model, and the binary interaction parameters were obtained. The results show that the quality of fitting is better with the mixture of (grape seed oil+ oleic acid+ ethanol). Distribution coefficients and selectivity were evaluated for the immiscibility region. we can conclude from the results that for extraction of oleic acid from grapeseed oil, it is better to use methanol rather than ethanol. from three applied temperatures for the extraction, 298.15k is the best option plus at this temperature, methanol has a high selectivity which means there would be a lower loss of oil in the extraction process.
