Abstract:
In this study, Protein Hydrolysate White grub larvae was fractionized by reversed phase high-pressure liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). The sequences one of the peptide fractions were identified by tandem mass spectrometry and named as LP-10. Antioxidant activity and cellular effect of synthetic peptides on A549 cell line were investigated. Results showed that by increasing of peptide concentrations induced significantly (P ≤ 0.01) activities of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase. Different peptide concentrations exhibited a quantitative hemolytic activity. At the highest concentration, only 6.56% of hemolysis were observed. Our results suggested that the peptides of white grub larvae, possessed an inducing effect on increase of antioxidant enzyme activities in A549 cells.
