Abstract:

Spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) is a novel extremely confined surface wave, which presents a flexible and low loss transmission in microwave frequencies. In recent years, according to these fundamental properties, numerous investigation has been done on SSPPs-based devices. In this paper, an ultra wide-band, high isolation, and small SSPPs-based power divider/combiner is firstly proposed, which has metals as ground plane on both sides of the center of corrugated strip. Furthermore, in comparison with previous divider works with flaring ground, the addition of double sides ground significantly decreases the total dimensions of the structure and also presents more intense confine field with lower radiation loss. The total length and width of the device related to its central wavelength are 4.28 g*2.81 g, respectively, which shows not only low-profile characteristic but also wide-band operation from 2.5 to 16GHz with fractional bandwidth of 146%. Moreover, by adding a 200-ohm resistor, high isolation between output ports is achieved.
