Path Analysis: Relationship between Structural and Intermediary Determinants of Health and Sexual function abstract

Objective: Sexual function is a major concern for the health of individuals, families and society and is affected by different factors. The present study aimed to examine the relationship between Structural and Intermediary Determinants of Health and Sexual function with path analysis.Methods: In this analytical cross-sectional study, the participants were recruited from health clinics located at general hospitals in Tehran, Iran. Women were selected using cluster sampling and the questionnaires used for data gathering were: demographic, socio-HFRQRPLF VWDWXV %HFNʼV Depression Inventory II (BDI-II), 6SLHOEHUJHUʼV 6WDWH-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), the 12-LWHP 06366 &RKHQʼV measure of perceived stress, domestic violence, unhealthy behaviors, and sexual function (FSFI) questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS 21 and Lizrel 8.8 software.Results: The findings showed that the final path model fitted well (GFI =1, RMSEA =0.057). Depression had the greatest direct, and total effect on sexual function, ( 7RWDO -0.34) and socioeconomic status had the most significant indirect effect on sexual function ( 0.176).Conclusion: Sexual function is affected by Structural and Intermediary Determinants of Health. Screening is recommended to be performed for womenʼs sexual health promotion.
