Awareness and attitudes promotion toward pedestrians traffic safety with educational approach

Background: Road traffic injuries (RTIS) is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide. Compared to other methods of transport, pedestrians are most likely to be killed or injured in accidents. Reduce risk perception and the Wrong attitude of traffic safety can be associated with an increased risk of high-risk driving. According to statistics of accidents, the best and most cost-effective methods and tools to reduce the occurrence of such incidents in the use of educational programs and preventive strategies. In the present study examine the impact of educational interventions to raise awareness and modification attitude of traffic safety of pedestrians in trauma caregivers has been measured. Methods: This Study is interventional (Clinical Trial) and the 370 of trauma caregivers in Shahid Rajaee Hospital was conducted in 2016. Block randomization of participants in the study were divided in two experimental and control groups. Results: The difference in scores before and after treatment in both knowledge and attitudes, also show the effect of training. Increase in awareness and attitudes .95 ± 2.51, 1.71 ± 3.53 after interventions have increased. Conclusion: Educational Interventions promote awareness and positive attitude of people to compliance traffic law. This would be a major step forward to improve traffic culture of society and reduce RTIS.
