Identification of Internal and External Factors in a Hospital- Based SWOT Analysis

The desirable administration of hospitals as the largest centers forproviding healthcare services has always been the focus of attention ofpolicymakers and thinkers. Hospital managers, on the other hand, mustagainst incremental pressures of the internal and external environmentbe adapted to the theories and managerial methods become familiarwith modern theories. Therefore, all practitioners and practitioners ofhealthcare agree on the application of optimal managerial methods, buttheir differences in choosing the best and most appropriate way are thestructure and environmental conditions of the organizations in thissector. For a strategic analysis, in a first complete analysis of theinternal and external environment of the organizations should be carriedout. SWOT analysis is a summary of the most important internal andexternal factors that has the greatest impact on the future success of theorganization. This research has been conducted in Iran. In this research,one of the hospitals in Tehran has been studied. Finally, appropriatestrategies are presented. Strategies are put in SO, WO, ST, and WTgroups.
