Call back In Blood Donors from 2011 to 2016 at the Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization abstract
Background:The main goal of blood transfusion is to reduce the risk of transmitting blood infections.Call back is one of the ways to increase the safety of allogeneic blood units.In the blood transfusion unit of Iran, the instructions for how to implement the call back process were developed on December 10, 2009. And was available to all blood transfusion Organization.CALL BACK s information management has been deployed in the Blood Transfusion Organization since 2011.methods:CALL BACK s data was extracted from the blood transfusion organization Software from 2011 to 2016 (6 years) And analyzed.Results :10979 donors (0.09% of all blood donors ) were placed in the call back program and the highest statistics were for first time donors.Investigating Causes of Callback Average of 6 Years Country, 5% of cases were due to health threatening factors of blood donors and 95% of the health-threatening factors were the recipient.1% of the threatening factors in the health of the donor were drugs and 4 % were Systemic diseases79% of the threatening factors in the health of the recipient were Infectious agents and 16 % were Non-infectious agents.Discuss :According to this study, Approximately 80% of the cause of call back s are due to infectious agents , This result demonstrates the effectiveness of the call back process in improving the health of allogeneic donation units. Considering the importance of this process in maintaining and improving the health of blood and blood products And ultimately its impact on the health of the blood donator and recipients , In order to enhance and improve the process, there is a need for continuous monitoring of the call back process.
