Abstract:
Radar absorbing features of 70 wt. % carbonyl iron/woven glass fiber/epoxy composite was investigated both analytically and experimentally in this study. First, the reflection loss of this composite material was predicted using the transmission theory. Then, test specimens were manufactured and their reflection losses were measured in X-band using the wave guide technique. Experimental results showed that composite with 70 wt. % carbonyl iron with thickness of 3.5mm has the high radar absorbing features which were in good agreement with simulated ones in absorbing bandwidth
