Abstract:
Tunnelling changes the state of stresses and creates a zone of displacement in the vicinity of the ground surface. Construction of a tunnel can cause a surface settlement, instability, or even destruction of structures close to the tunnel. In this research with Finite Element Methods in ABAQUS, numerical modelling is done in three-dimensions, which can be used to determine the effect of different factors on the longitudinal settlement profile. The purpose of this paper, therefore, is to study the impact of three critical parameters: Cohesion of Soil, Friction Angle and Elastic Modulus on longitudinal profile settlement in EPB tunnels. Results show that shear strength parameters of soil do not have an impressive effect on the equation of longitudinal settlement profile
