Study of methylation status in APC gene in Colorectal cancer patient

epigenetic mechanisms such as hypermethylation Materials and Methods: To evaluate the frequency of methylation of APC gene in patients with Colorectal cancer, the methylation specific PCR using exon 18 (MS-PCR) PCR and restriction enzyme (PER) was dependent. Results: After examining 40 patients with Colorectal cancer by MS-PCR and PER hypermethylation in 70 % and %55 , respectively, were found. Discussion : Background check pathologic tissue samples of cancer patients showed that the APC gene inactivation may be performed in the early stages of cancer and epigenetic factors influencing the progression of cancer.
