Isolation and Pathogenicity Assay of Aeromonas hydrophila in Fish abstract

Aeromonas hydrophila is an important pathogen of a wide variety of aquatic and terrestrial animals, especially fish. It is necessary to be able to accurately identify Aeromonas to species level to determine true etiology during outbreaks in aquaculture animals. In this research firstly, a series of methods, namely, selective media (GSP agar), a few critical and standard biochemical tests and Biolog MicroPlate system were used to isolate A. hydrophila from fish. Then, the pathogenicity of A. hydrophila was evaluated on fish. Fish were orally fed with different concentrations of A. hydrophila AHMP bacteria at 105, 106, 107 and108 CFU/gram pellet diet and monitored for the development of the degree of mortality after 15 days.
