Abstract:
This study aims to study a real-time deformation of an organ using a motion capture method. A fresh lamb kidney was used as a soft tissue organ to carry out the experimental tests. A commercial webcam integrated with an open source software was used to visualize and compute the track of the motion. In parallel, the organ’s deformation was measured experimentally using a testingmachine. The data obtained from camera motion recording and experimental measurement of the organ deformation was later compared and a close agreement was found between the two methods. The study concluded that tracking process used in this research is applicable for a real-time deformation measurement.
