Improvement seismic steel structure with modern dampers and different steels abstract

In this research, the behaviors of steel frames with different dampers are investigated. 3D modeling was done by finite element program ABAQUS. Two types of steel i.e. ST37 and LYP100 were used for the members. The aim of this research is selecting suitable damper and suitable steel type for one bay and one, two and three stories safe house frames. Ductility, energy absorption, displacement and frame strains after cyclic loading was investigated with pseudo static analysis. Results showed that TADAS damper has suitable ductility relative to other dampers. Moreover, ductility factor is increased with change in steel type from ST37 to LYP in the frames. So, LYP dampers have more ductility than ST37 dampers. Energy absorption of ST37 in earthquakes with low period is more than LYP but it is vice versa for high period earthquakes
