Abstract:
This paper first discusses the reasons for increasing the capacity of the transmission lines and finding new ways to make the most of the transmission capacity without compromising the security and reliability of the system. Then there are ways to increase the capacity of the transmission lines and the challenges and challenges that each of them has. Then the benefits of using high-performance conductors are presented. The next section introduces high temperature superconductors (HTS). One of the important properties of superconductors is the high electrical resistance at a temperature higher than the critical temperature or by the excessive increase of the magnetic field around it. If the temperature of a superconductor can be lowered, this tolerable magnetic field limit will increase. The oscillations in the magnetic field also reduce the conductivity in the superconductor. The HTS cables are built on two types of warm dielectric (WD) and Cold Coaxial Dielectric (CDC), each of which is described. Then the activities carried out in Iran in the field of high conductors are presented. Finally, conclusions and suggestions are given.
