Implementing Lean Maintenance, Using Six Sigma DMAIC in Industry

The goal of every organization is to gain more profit. In today’s global market every organization should be able to remain competitive by reducing costs of production. One of the most common and at the same time the most important cost creating parameters, are those related to machinery break down and maintenance problems in industry. In this paper we present the guideline to implement Lean Maintenance Using Six Sigma DMAIC for production sectors of industry. We first point to the costs related to maintenance -those which are directly related and those which are indirectly related- that the production sectors are entangled with and then we present proper solution to solve the problem making use of Six Sigma DMAIC and the methodology of lean maintenance, having the approach in mind that the present paper should be able to be practical in the domestic industry.
