New records of Collembola for Mashhad fauna (Khorasan-e-Razavi)

Collembola are small soil living arthropods which their diversity and also presence orabsence of some species are used as bio indicator for soil health. In this paper fauna ofCollembola species in soil of some ecosystems in Mashhad were investigated for the firsttime. The specimens were extracted from soil by Berlese funnel and the species wereidentified by first author. In sum, five species including Folsomides parvulus Stach, 1922,Folsomia ksenemani Stach, 1947, Isotomurus fucicolus (Schött, 1893), Proisotomaminuta (Tullberg, 1871) from Isotomidae and Ceratophysella stercoraria Stach, 1963from Hypogastruridae were identified. Two species F. parvulus and C. stercoraria weremore abundant.
