Health Policy Challenges for Elderly Women abstract
Introduction: Implementation of elderly programs in the country from the aspects ofeducation, research, clinical care, insurance and services have serious infrastructurechallenges that will not be possible in the country if they are not resolved.Method: In this review study, data collection was conducted through the databasesPUBMED, GOOGLE SCHOLAR, WEB OF SCIENCE (ISI), SCOPUS, PROQEST, OVIDSID, MAGIRAN between 2000 and 2019.Result: Lack of proper information on the health status of the elderly and its contributing factors, lack of optimal use of evidence and research results in policymakers, incompatibility of elderly health care programs with age pattern changes, lack of appropriate budget allocation, legal vacuum in support and organization. Elderly, lack of credits allocated to train elderly medicine therapists and insufficient participation of women in different levels of planning and policy making are among the most important challenges in health policy making for older women.Conclusion: Elderly health policy-making should be based on an understanding of theprograms in the system and in accordance with internationally recognized standards andprograms and the experiences of successful systems in the world. Understanding the gapsand barriers to achieving achievement in the design of optimal programs and providingevidence-based, evidence-based services is essential. Establishing and amending laws toprotect, regulate, care and rehabilitate the elderly, attract researchers attention to the data,and disseminate information on the elderly s health problems, and to give policy makersfeedback on the results that should be taken into account.
