Overview of Medicinal Plants Which Stop Women’s Abnormal Bleeding

Introduction: Abnormal vaginal bleeding in lady cycle and out of cycle is very important,because it can effects on religious factors like praying and other factors of life. There areonly three chemical drugs In Iran pharmacopeia which can stop or decrease bleeding inwomen’s cycles: Oc pills and other hormonal drugs, Tranexamic acid capsule andMefenamic acid capsule.So women almost always try to find an alternate modality or herbalplants to cease flow of bleeding without adverse side effects.Methods: Many of Iranian traditional books and Pharmacognosical references were investigated and medicinal plants have been written down.Results: Survey of Iranian traditional books have been noticed that medicinal plants like Plantago, Berberis, lentil, Quince, Myrtus, Sumac, Maazoo, Oak bark, Pomegranate blossoms, … can stop women’s bleeding. Age, occupation, Mizaj and severity of bleeding must be noticed in prescription of them by physicians. Usage of them maybe: boiled, marmalade, inspissated juice and so on.Discussion & Conclusion: Randomized controlled trials with herbal medicinal plants which stop women’s bleeding are recommended by midwifery Departments.
