PREDICTION OF ADDICTION POTENTIAL BASED ON EMOTIONAL ORDERING STRATEGIES IN STUDENTS OF KERMANSHAH UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES

Abstract:

Background and Aim : Addiction is considered as one of the most important personal, social and political challenges in different walks of life in all countries. Therefore, the present study aimed to predict the potential of addiction based on emotional ordering strategies in students of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences.Methods : The present study is a correlation study. The statistical population included all students of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences (Iran) Medical School in 2018, of whom 200 were selected by available method. The research instruments included emotional ordering strategies questionnaires, Data analysis was done using SPSS 20 software and Pearson correlation coefficient and regression methods.Results : Analysis of the findings showed that the total score of addiction preparation and active readiness to addiction with total score of emotional ordering strategies. Also, between passive potential and addiction, there was a negative relationship with avoidance of inhibition. The results showed that the variables of, escape from inhibition were the most important factors in explaining the variance of total score of addictionConclusion : Considering the role of excitement in the preparation for addiction, university officials will conduct workshops and seminars to educate students about the personality traits that make up addiction.
