Abstract:

Background and Aim : The purpose of this study was to provide a structural model for explaining substance abuse tendency in adolescents based on Neuro-cognitive executive functions and integrative self-knowledge. The research has been correlational-structural equations. The statistical population of the study included all secondary and secondary school students in the province of Alborz in the academic year of 1396-97. A total of 300 students were selected through cluster random sampling and completed the test instruments including the Behavioral Rating Scale for executive functions, and self-assessment questionnaires of integrative self-knowledge and addiction tendency. Methods : Structural equations modelling was used to evaluate the relationships between the measured and measured variables in the conceptual model Results : The results indicated that the tendency to substance abuse was predicted through defects in the components of executive performance (inhibition, emotional regulation, attention transfer, initiation, work memory, planning, organizing and self-monitoring), and components of integrative self-knowledge. Also, executive functions through integrative self-knowledge have a direct impact on the tendency to substance abuse. In sum, executive functions combined with integrative self-knowledge Explains 57% of the variance of substance abuse. The results of the absolute fit indices RMSEA = 0.078 and Iggy AGFI = 0.888 and the comparative CFI = 0.945 showed that the model is closely related to the research data, appropriate fit and theoretical assumptions, Conclusion : based on the findings of this research It can be said that understanding the functions of different regions of the brain and their role in the manifestation of human behaviours is very necessary and these progenies can provide a new perspective on conceptualizations to study the role of the functioning of the nervous system in a variety of human behaviors, including high-risk and addictive based on the findings of this research It can be said that understanding the functions of different regions of the brain and their role in the manifestation of human behaviours is very necessary and these progenies can provide a new perspective on conceptualizations to study the role of the functioning of the nervous system in a variety of human behaviors, including high-risk and addictive behaviors. .
