Media today plays a key role in the world of communication and society, so that it can be considered as one of the most powerful tools for preventing addiction.By modifying the misconceptions of society about drugs and psychotropics and providing preventive education to families and young people, the media is familiarizing them with this problem and preventing a kind of self-control of drug use. Methods : The method of this research is descriptive-analytic of the type of library. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of mass media, cyberspace and popular scouts in reducing negative effects and preventing addiction, which is an important aspect in preventing social harmResults : Sometimes in some media, the issue of drugs is more often seen as a criminal issue. While the new trend in this regard is the attention of addicts as a patient, they should be treated instead of being imprisoned and treated purely by judicial proceedings. In the media messages, along with addressing the causes and factors of drug and psychotropic abuse, it is worth mentioning alternative activities instead of substance abuse. In drug prevention, reliance on a substance such as cannabis and glass should be avoided.Because this misconception may appear in the minds of the audience that only that substance is hazardous and that other substances, such as opium, are not at risk.In popular scenes, early approaches to drug prevention education were based on a negative ethical approach to drug or alcohol use, and to the advocate of the Prohibition Movement. Conclusion : Mass media and popular scouts are the best tool for rapidly disseminating information and scientific facts among a massive population. With the intelligent and efficient use of mass media and knowledge, messages can be passed on to appropriate audiences and people become more aware of the issue of early prevention of social and social harm
